2022年2月8日，总部位于硅谷的领先的国际律师事务所威尔逊律师事务所(Wilson Sonsini)（“威尔逊”）欣然宣布设立大中华区法律奖学金项目，以表彰就读于大中华地区知名法学院的优秀法学生。威尔逊律师事务所奖学金项目将由威尔逊资助并由其与国内知名的法律人平台CLECSS 合作推行。

 

奖励内容为何？

威尔逊律师事务所奖学金每年将会评选并奖励18名奖学金获得者，其中一等奖6名，二等奖12名。本奖学金将奖励每名一等奖获得者人民币 10,000 元和每名二等奖获得者人民币 5,000 元。此外，威尔逊还将为有兴趣及时间的奖学金获得者提供于其北京、上海及/或香港办公室暑期实习的机会。

 

谁可以参评？

就读于下列大学法学院（按拼音顺序排列）且年级成绩排名前5%的法律专业大三本科生或二年级硕士研究生/JD项目学生可以参评：北京大学、复旦大学、华东政法大学、清华大学、上海交通大学、武汉大学、香港城市大学、香港大学、香港中文大学、浙江大学、中国人民大学和中国政法大学。

 

如何申请？

1. 时间安排：对奖学金感兴趣且符合参评条件的法学学生可于2022年3月31日前将下文所述申请材料提交至下列邮箱chinascholarship@wsgr.com和admin@clecss.cn。本年度奖学金获奖名单将于2022年6月初宣布。
2. 申请材料： 申请材料应包括(i) 一份签署的申请表格(参见本公告附录模板); (ii) 所有已完成学年（即本科课程的前两年或硕士研究生/JD项目课程的第一年）的官方成绩单和排名（如有）一份；及(iii) 申请人曾实习过的知名律师事务所的合伙人或他/她曾担任助研或助教的法学教授签署的推荐信一份。
3. 审核流程：威尔逊将与 CLECSS 合作设立一个由律师事务所合伙人、法学院教授和公司法务组成的独立奖学金评审委员会对申请进行两轮审核，包括由奖学金评审委员会在第二轮对候选人进行视频面试。

On February 8, 2022, Wilson Sonsini, a leading international law firm headquartered in Silicon Valley, is pleased to announce the launch of Greater China Legal Scholarship Program for eligible law students at top law schools in the region. The Wilson Sonsini scholarship program will be sponsored by Wilson Sonsini in collaboration with CLECSS, a renowned legal network in China.

 

What are the Awards?

A total of 18 scholars for six first prizes and 12 second prizes will be selected annually under the Wilson Sonsini scholarship program.  The Scholarship will award each first-prize winner with RMB10,000 and each second-prize winner with RMB5,000. In addition, Wilson Sonsini will offer summer internship opportunities at its Beijing, Shanghai and/or Hong Kong offices to the scholarship winners who are interested and available.

 

Who May Apply?

All the third-year LLB students or second-year master program/JD program graduate students with top 5% GPA in his/her class year of the law schools at the following universities (in alphabetical order): China University of Political Science and Law, City University of Hong Kong, East China University of Political Science and Law, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peking University, Renmin University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University and Zhejiang University.

 

How to Apply?

1. Timeline: Eligible law students who are interested in the scholarship may submit their applications by March 31, 2022 to chinascholarship@wsgr.com and admin@clecss.cn. This year’s awards will be announced in early June 2022.
2. Application Materials: Each application should contain (i) one copy of signed application form (see template form attached as the Annex to this announcement); (ii) one copy of the official transcripts and ranking (if available) of all the completed terms (i.e., first two years of LLB program or first year of graduate program/JD program); and (iii) one copy of signed recommendation letter from an established law firm partner that the applicant has interned with or from a law professor that he/she worked for as research or teaching assistant.
3. Review process: Wilson Sonsini and CLECSS will form an independent scholarship committee consisting of law firm partners, law professors and inhouse counsels and  conduct two rounds of review process on the applications, including video interviews by the scholarship committee for the candidates in the second round.
