Employment Opportunity with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of trainee with the Orrick Beijing office.  We are seeking applicants with strong academic records who are capable of quality legal research and writing. Applicants should be fluent in English and able to work in a high-pressure environment.

Orrick is an international law firm with approximately 900 lawyers in 18 offices throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. It is recognized as a top tier provider of global corporate, finance, intellectual property and dispute resolution advice. Recently, Orrick transitioned with a substantial portion of Coudert Brothers' China practice, adding Orrick offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong as well as partners, of counsel, associates and staff with unrivaled experience. Coudert established its Hong Kong office in 1972, the first of any foreign law firm to do so; it was also the first to establish a permanent presence in Beijing in 1979.

Trainees working in our offices in China are given broad exposure to our firm's practice areas.  The trainee’s scope of responsibility covers a wide range of tasks, including conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda and drafting corporate and transaction documents in Chinese and English. The experience provides an excellent opportunity to participate in a first-class training program, gain global legal experience, work on cutting-edge deals and learn from lawyers who are leaders in their fields of practice.

We offer an unparalleled work experience.  Candidates are encouraged to start at their earliest convenience.  A writing sample and references will be required.

Interested candidates should send their resumes to the attention of Song Yan in our Beijing office by fax at (8610) 8529-8779 or by e-mail at ysong@orrick.com.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us by fax or e-mail.
